Buckeye Beasts and Ramblings of Teenaged Cryptozoologists Named Two of the Best Crypto Books of 2018

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on here, and there are quite a few reasons for that. I explained most of them in a post a few months back that you can find here. But, something from last week is very newsworthy, I think.

I published two books this year - Buckeye Beasts, which examines old "wild man" accounts from Ohio, and Ramblings of Teenaged Cryptozoologists, a collection of cryptid-themed articles by myself and Colin Schneider.

Well, last week I was extremely surprised (in a good way) to find both of these books on Loren Coleman's list of the best cryptozoology books of 2018! Out of 12 books total, two are mine. Even though I have distanced myself from the cryptozoology field since they were published, it is still a great honor to have both of them on the list.

Coleman gave Buckeye Beasts the "top regional Bigfoot book" of 2018 and Ramblings the "best youth cryptozoologist training book" of the year (which is it's purpose). I would like to thank Loren for including my books on his list, and also congratulate Colin Schneider since Ramblings includes his work as well!

My goal with both books was to take a critical look at reports of cryptids to determine their validity, which I think is important for the field. I hope others will appreciate this as well.
