Very sad news for the Bigfoot world…
Julius E. "Smokey" Crabtree, 88, of Fouke Monster fame, passed away on January 16, 2016, in Fouke, Arkansas.
Smokey's family had encounters with the Fouke Monster in the 1960s, and he helped make the 1972 dock-drama about the monster, The Legend of Boggy Creek. He served as a wildlife guide and consultant during filming, and helped convince the Fouke residents to help make the movie about their monster.
Smokey also wrote the books Smokey and the Fouke Monster, Too Close to the Mirror, and The Man Behind the Legend.
